Huawei MateStation S: Desktop PC with an AMD Ryzen 5 4600G comes to Europe for under €600
Huawei computer has released its first desktop PC outside of China. While the company has been developing PCs with in-house SoCs, the MateStation S utilises a Ryzen 5 4600G from AMD's Zen 2 family. Huawei does not acknowledge it, but the MateStation S appears to be a consumer version of the MateStation B515 that the company released in November. Incidentally, Huawei sells the MateStation B515 with a Ryzen 5 4600G and a Ryzen 7 4700G, rather than just the former.
The MateStation S also has 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256 GB NVMe SSD and a rated output power of 300 W. The PC lacks a dedicated GPU though, and it is unclear if one could be installed at all. Hence, the MateStation S relies on the GPU integrated within the Ryzen 5 4600G, which is powerful enough for most tasks, including some light gaming.
According to Huawei, its new PC measures 29.3 x 9.3 x 31.5 cm and weighs 4.2 kg, making it smaller than any ATX case. Unsurprisingly, Huawei includes Windows 10 Home and a healthy amount of ports. Specifically, the MateStation S has Ethernet, HDMI, VGA, USB Type-A, USB Type-C, and 3.5 mm jacks.
Huawei sells the MateStation S in France and Germany for €599, as well as in Czech and Romania. Additionally, the PC is available in Mexico, Peru, the UAE, Thailand and the Phillippines.
